Bonitafest Celebration 2021 “Back in the Saddle!”
Bonitafest weekend features a Friday Sept. 17th Twilight Parade around the Chula Vista Golf Course for equestrians, bikes, strollers, golf cars and walkers. Dress festively and bring glow sticks and flashlights. Starting point Sunnyside Saddle Club Equestrian Arena in Rohr Park, and concludes at the museum and library. Arrive at stable arena between 5-6pm.
Celebration Car Parade, Saturday, Sept. 18 at 10am at the Sweetwater Community Church parking lot. This is a community car parade that honors a lineup of outstanding community leaders. Led by the Bonita-Sunnyside Fire Department and the San Diego County Sheriffs, the parade is open to the community. Families are invited to decorate cars to celebrate milestones, achievements and rites-of-passage interfered with by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Vehicles will assemble at 9 a.m. at the Sweetwater Community Church in Sunnyside. The parade begins at 10 a.m. Fire and police vehicles will lead a 13-mile route through Sweetwater Valley neighborhoods. Grand Marshal.
