3rd Annual gathering held on traditional Kumeyaay lands in the Sweetwater Valley. Saturday, November 16 celebrates the 3rd annual Gathering of Nations at the Bonita Museum & Cultural Center and the Bonita Sunnyside SD County Library. The gathering celebrates indigenous cultures, highlighting craftspeople, storytellers, food and educational resources held on traditional Kumeyaay lands. The Bonita Museum is collaborating with the Indigenous Sovereign Nations Employee Resource Group (ISN ERG) to commemorate the International Day of the World's Indigenous People on August 9th with an extraordinary event that promises to be both educational and inspiring. This event will include Cultural exhibitions, informational tables, workshops, and Cultural performances. This will represent a unique opportunity to showcase the diverse cultures of countries around the world, fostering a spirit of global unity and understanding.

Bios: Claire Hsu Accomando was born in Switzerland to a Chinese father and French-Armenian mother. She spent her childhood in rural France during the Nazi occupation, as told in her memoir, Love and Rutabaga. Claire graduated from NYU with a science degree, but was always drawn to the arts. She has published two volumes of poetry, Evaporation (The Press at Cal Poly Humboldt) and Lifting Elephants (Third Coast Publishing).
