Business level members receive one (1) two hour rental of the museum Matching Grants: Mehl Lawson Public Horse Sculpture: Your donation of any amount will be matched through December of 2020. 2020 will feature local fossils with a new permanent exhibit about the very ancient history of our region. Paleontology of San Diego: A Deep Dive in History is a hands-on touchable exhibit by Brian A. Gibson developed in collaboration with the Natural History Museum.
The museum is also hoping to double your donation through a $25,000 San Diego County challenge grant to place a full-size Mehl Lawson horse sculpture in the complex where the museum and library are located.
Museum archives work continues behind the scenes with archivist Miguel Ayala Murillo who is researching and preserving the museum’s collection of objects.
The museum is also a teaching museum supporting students and local authors who tell the stories of our region. A busy schedule for the year also includes film screenings, lectures, workshops, and don’t forget 2nd and 4th Saturdays are Art in the Museum days.
