About Ric from Steve R. Allen-

I first met Ric in 2001 during the Trumpet Awards in Atlanta, GA. Over the years we became
close friends and colleagues. He was a trusted advisor and consultant on a number of my
exhibitions in the US and internationally.

Ric was instrumental in introducing my work to the San Diego area. He was responsible for
partnering the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee with the City of Chula Vista to
commission an original painting that is on permanent display in the center. This was in 2001
when I was invited to be the featured artist at “Taste of the Arts by the Bay”.

Ric was also prominently involved with my “In the Paint, Art and the Spirit of the Games”
exhibition at the Charles H. Wright Museum in Detroit, MI. He curated the exhibition as well as
speaking during the exhibition opening reception.

Over the years his counsel was highly valued as my career progressed over the years. I was
deeply saddened when he passed, I truly miss his friendship and counsel.
